Grow your app with Zoom
At Zoom, we're passionate about empowering developers to build groundbreaking solutions on our platform. We believe in providing the tools you need to develop new applications, nurture growth, and achieve success in the marketplace.
This document provides information, resources, and guidelines to help developers and ISVs understand the best ways to amplify their solutions and attract more users and customers.
Best practices for marketing your Zoom App
The Zoom App Marketplace currently lists nearly 3,000 apps and integrations. While it's a great place to grow your reach by tapping into Zoom's massive customer base, it's also important to focus on making your listing stand out.
The Zoom team is here to help, and we've built a comprehensive app distribution workflow to support your success. In addition, there are a number of important best practices every app provider should follow to maximize exposure, engagement, and adoption.
Naming your app
A well-chosen name can be the difference between generating interest and being overlooked. It's worth dedicating extra time to brainstorm how you label your listing in the Zoom App Marketplace. Aim for a name that is unique, simple, and self-explanatory, effectively conveying what your app does within Zoom's platform. One straightforward approach is to link your app name with the relevant Zoom product it works with, such as "Acme app for Zoom Meetings." Steer clear of overly general, descriptive names that obscure your app's functionality or target audience (for instance, avoid using "Conference for Zoom").
Describing your app
You will need to provide a short description (< 150 characters) that appears beside your app tile in the Zoom App Marketplace as shown below, and a long description (no character limit) explaining your app in more detail. Take this opportunity to describe not just how your app integrates with Zoom, but how it adds value to the end-user experience. Focus on specific use cases and benefits that illustrate why a customer would want to purchase or use your app (such as reducing time spent on post-call work for contact center employees) and what makes it unique. Be intentional, but keep it concise; a user should be able to get a clear understanding of your app or integration in less than a minute.

Demonstrating your app
A picture is worth a thousand words, and a video is worth even more. Images and videos are the first elements a user sees when clicking on your listing. Creating high-quality screenshots, video content, and/or GIFs to support your app leaves a lasting first impression and gives you an opportunity to show the combined power of Zoom and your solution in action. We strongly recommend enhancing your screenshots with helpful text callouts and highlights to make it clear what each image is describing.

Promoting your app
It's exciting to have a shiny new app listing, but unless the right people discover its existence, your app won't see much engagement. We encourage all developers and ISVs to work with their own internal marketing leads to actively promote their listing on the Zoom App Marketplace. Some recommended strategies could include:
- SEO optimization of your listing (think about what language your prospects would use when searching for information relevant to your Zoom app.)
- Social posts announcing your app's availability or key enhancements.
- Backlinks from your main website.
- Blog posts that link to your listing.
- Building a dedicated landing page and/or content resources about your integration with Zoom.
- Featuring your Zoom app in ad hoc campaigns like webinars and events.
- Working with Zoom to create a mutual listing in your own marketplace (if applicable).
Monetizing your app
Zoom App developers can now monetize their apps directly through the Zoom App Marketplace, providing a seamless and trusted purchasing experience for Zoom's vast user base. App Monetization offers significant benefits, including access to millions of potential customers, increased trust and visibility through Zoom's brand, and a frictionless checkout experience. Our platform improves operational efficiency with features like tax handling, billing support, and business management tools, making it easier for developers to focus on creating and improving their apps while Zoom handles many of the administrative tasks associated with sales and customer management.
For more information, see the Zoom App Monetization.
Opportunities to work with Zoom
Zoom is constantly onboarding new apps and integrations into our ecosystem. We selectively engage in co-marketing opportunities with app developers and ISV partners based on a set of guidelines that developers and partners must align with to qualify.
These factors serve as a maturity model that could facilitate direct collaboration on content, campaigns, or events.
| Criteria | Overview |
|---|---|
| Strategic product alignment | Strategic alignment with current Zoom product focus. For example, if Zoom is currently prioritizing AI Companion, we would have elevated interest in apps integrated with Custom AI Companion connectors |
| Content/value proposition alignment | Alignment with broad topics and market trends Zoom is focused on addressing |
| Established Zoom user base | Having active users and accounts on the Zoom platform demonstrates stickiness and ensures marketing investment will provide mutual benefit |
| Large market reach/market share | Having a broad digital reach and well-known customers that overlap with Zoom market segments |
| Multiple integration surfaces | Integrating with more than one Zoom product, such as Zoom Meetings and Zoom Chat, or Zoom Contact Center and Zoom Phone |
| Horizontal utility | Products with a wide variety of use cases that transcend specific industries or lines of business |
| App Monetization enabled | Participation in Zoom's App Monetization program is a significant plus, as this reflects revenue potential for Zoom |
| Zoom Essential App | Current status as one of Zoom's bundled Essential Apps is a significant plus, as this directly ties your app to new Zoom subscriptions. |
| Newsworthiness | Relevant to a current market trend or tied to an upcoming event or announcement |
Based on your alignment with these factors, Zoom will rank your app into one of three priority tiers. These tiers guide our decisions about involvement in co-marketing activities with our app and integration partners.
NOTE: The items listed below in each tier are not guaranteed deliverables but rather are intended to outline relevant activities that may be appropriate. Zoom Product Marketing or Partner Marketing makes all co-marketing decisions on a case-by-case basis.
Tier 3 Opportunity: Room to Grow
- External blog support: Write an article on your blog featuring your Zoom app/integration, and Zoom will support with review and potentially contribute a quote.

- Zoom blog series: Zoom hosts a themed blog series featuring recommended apps/integrations for specific customer use cases. Your app could be included in one of these blogs.

Co-selling/reselling your app with Zoom
In addition to marketing and promotion, Zoom provides options for bringing your solution to market directly through traditional Zoom sales channels. While these selective partnerships require a longer and more thorough vetting process, they present an excellent growth and revenue opportunity with mutual benefit for Zoom and our partners.
- ISV Exchange program: This program enables Zoom to sell strategic ISVs' best-of-breed solutions directly to our customers, creating a unified experience that addresses key technology and business requirements. By offering select solutions directly from our ISV partners, we are able to meet more of our customers' needs while simplifying their purchasing process. To learn more about the ISV Exchange Program or apply to become an ISV partner, see Zoom ISV Partner Program.
- Become an Essential App: Essential Apps are premium apps with broad, horizontal utility that are bundled into Zoom's paid Workplace plans, included for one year at no additional cost for eligible online subscriptions. These apps are designed to help customers enjoy a more productive, engaging Zoom Workplace experience with added capabilities that are ready to use.
