Before you Build: Role Permissions
Role Permissions
Zoom uses role-based permissions to enable admins to control what users can access when they sign in to Zoom.
To enable users under your Zoom account to create and edit apps:
- Log into the Zoom web portal as admin.
- Go to User Management > Roles > All.
- Find the role that you want to change permissions, then click the Edit button.
- Go to Role Settings > Advanced features.
- Select the View and Edit checkboxes for Zoom for developers.

Deprecated legacy permissions
We have flagged these granular role permissions for deprecation:
- OAuth
- Chatbot
- Meeting SDK
The separate role permissions were part of the legacy app creation process, which had separate app types. With the consolidation of separate app types into the single General app type, the separate permissions were no longer needed.
